Our Mission for Good
The Operation Food Search MetroMarket is a mobile market that travels to areas with limited access to fresh, healthy food. MetroMarket’s innovative approach uses a customer model to empower the community to shop at significantly lower prices than retail grocers. Fresh, affordable produce has been carefully selected from local farm partners and is brought directly to partner sites in the community.
In 2016, St. Louis MetroMarket, an independent nonprofit, began by serving St. Louis neighborhoods to generate attention for issues of limited food access. Since then, Operation Food Search MetroMarket has grown to better serve area communities lacking fresh food: with indoor markets, mobile markets, in Missouri and Illinois, all 12 months a year. As a part of the OFS family, MetroMarket will continue to grow its reach and offer more fresh, affordable food near you.
